A long hard 18km walk up and down and at the end of the day up only. And lovely Jhamka chose a shortcut for the last hour steep up as we were late already and the easier wlak on the road would have taken too long. At least on this tour I think the first day wtihout any rain. We were lucky as after lunch Jhamka wanted to leave and there was light rain and I insited on waiting some more time to see if the rain stops. If we would have left we would have been completely wet as a really heavy shower poured down for 15 min. Then it stopped, but of course enough to spoil the way. When we went down a small way we passed a someone with a basket full of grass which was barefoot. And I was thinking poor guy, does not even have shoes. After some moments I thought you can give him your sandals (the Chinese rubber ones which in Nepal everybody is wearingeven in the mountains) which I had only for the evenings in the lodges. So I let them wait for me with my backpack and rushed back up to find him, but he was gone already. Looking left and right I found him aside a small hud with some Yaks and I gave him the sandals. He looked at me in a very strange way as he did not understand but at least he took the sandals. Hope I could help him at bit. Then a bit further down I met a German family with a maybe 12 year old boy and they were going up to Gosain Kunda from that side (I was glad I came from the other side as the ascend from here is much steeper and harder). So I jus told them it's a long and hard way and wished them good luck (the had a guide and a porter but that is a really hard way). A little later a small dog joined us on the way and when we had lunch a couple from Germany passed by bringing their dog (which had joined them a couple of days ago). We chatted a bit and then they went on and strange enough "our" dog followed them and "theirs" stayed with us. I fed her (it was a female) with some rice from my plate and she looked almost exactly as on of our family dogs we had. She followed us quiet a while bit then was hunted by a couple of male dogs as she was in the heat and then she disappeared. We reched Cisapani short before dark and I was tottally exhausted. Dinner, shower, hung my clothes outside on the balcony (not a wise decision) and woke up the night from the heavy rainstorm several times. For God's sake I secured them with clothes pins.
