Again all night raining. I woke up at 6 and deciced to stay in my warm sleeping bag till someone was heard and I could get a hot tea. So, we took it slowly, had breakfast and left at 9:30 going up the 200m to the pass on 4600m. I fixed maybe my last prayerflag in my life on a high pass. On the way we passed the Saidu living in a room since one year and I brought him some matches as the day before he was asking for some light to fire up his candles but mainly his joint. So he was happy to have them and directly invited me for the joint which I denied. I thought you will not move any more today if you get high now. We needed to descend to Phedi on 3800m on slippery rocky paths and I used my sticks to give my knees a bit relief, quiet tricky though. So after 7 strenuous hours we arrived and the nice thing was, it felt warm. The 800m diefference in height makes a lot. They also fired up the stove when we arrived so I could dry my shirts which were wet from sweat. My Nepalis do not sweat at all at the pace we go. But, they also have 30kg less weight to carry as the are small and skinny. So today we are half a day ahead of our first schedule and tomorrow we will gain another half day so we are 1 day earlier back in Kathmandu because I do not want to be here longer than necessary in the bad weather. Can't wait to leave the rain, clouds, cold, leeches and ever humid clothes and go back to my, compared to that, 7 star hotel and having my beloved fries, meat and Cappucino. I do not mind to live this very simple life here in the mountains, but all the rain really makes you wish to leave. Altough it is interesting to see that part of Nepal which is more the original simple life not as much touched by tourism as the Annapurna range. The live a hard live up here.
